When May arrives, it feels like the culmination of spring, with its warm weather, longer days, and vibrant nature. It’s a time of renewal, growth, and a sense of optimism as the world blossoms. It’s time to feel uplifted, with increased energy and motivation.
May brings consistently warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours, making it ideal for spending time outdoors. Springtime blooms reach their peak in May, with a wide variety of colors and fragrances adorning the landscape. Nature is at its most vibrant, with animals and plants actively reproducing and growing. The sunshine and warmer temperatures can trigger the release of serotonin associated with happiness, leading to improved mood and a reduction in feelings of lethargy. Do ya’ feel it?
We spend a lot of time outdoors at grandkids ballgames… basking in the Tennessee heat. Ha-ha. In essence, May feels like a time of abundance, warmth, and renewed energy, making it a popular month for people to enjoy the beauty and vibrancy of spring.
I love May as it’s the time we get to celebrate mothers, mothers-to-be, grandmothers, and those that stand in the gap. On May 10th, we’ll have our annual Mothers Day Brunch – Sip n’ Shop. The Shoppes are brimming with Spring/Summer Florals and fun porch décor. There will be lots of sales and yummy treats. Excited to see you all!
On a sidenote, in the midst of the hopes of Spring, I always want to take the opportunity to encourage everyone to shop small business! Two exciting things have happened to us …
ROAD TRIPPIN’ – The Town of Farragut has been featured on an episode of the show “Road Trippin” by WTVC News Channel 9 (based in Chattanooga). The segment showcased many of the fun things to do in Farragut. The Shoppes were one of those fun things. If you would like to see it, click HERE. The store looked great and Angela (spokesperson) was fantastic.
BUSINESS OF THE MONTH – The Maryville Store was voted the Business of the Month by the Blount Partnership Chamber of Commerce!
Of course, here at The Shoppes, we have a vast mixture of merchandise from vintage and antique corners, homemade goods, fine art and unique one-of-a kind crafts. Many of our vendors pride themselves on sourcing from local craftsmen and merchants.
Vendors that do rely on imported products are trying to figure out how to weather the changing times to keep their shelves stocked.
We know our customers are remarkable and loyal. In the short term, it may be a bit hard. So, support the local vegetable stand, coffee shop, bakery, antique store, stationery/card shop, ah! I could go on and on. And, if you see small increases in price, know they are trying their best.
Out enjoying the flowers,
Bev
